Eight Graham Farish Coaches (thanks, Blokey!) came in the mail yesterday. They look good visiting C&O/B&O country in the US Appalachian region.

Spend as little as possible on what you need so you can spend as much as possible on what you want.

Very nice Marco, great colours aren't they.

Very nice @Railwaygun . How do you think it compares to its older sibling, were comparison can be made i.e: decoration; pulling power; smooth running; etc?

the light sand is a different shade to the older model ( perfectly acceptable considering the originals), its lighter (plastic chassis) , and runs as a DC consist so have'nt checked traction yet. build of the body seems identical quality.

However its a bargain at the original price, which GM honoured, - if you can get one. I'm watching the E**y prices with interest - £250!!!

Western Exile

In the post this morning, courtesy of eBay; a lovely rake of four Derby RTC coaches (Lab 23, Test Car 5, Lab 12 and Lab 14 "Wren"). These are Modelzone limited editions by Farish and the seller had put them up for sale in three lots (Lab 12 and Test Car 5 are a twin-pack). I was expecting considerable interest and I really wanted all of them so put some fairly aggressive bids in. I was therefore surprised to win all four for only just over £100. I don't know if they ever ran together like this but I don't really care; I think they look the business.

Those look great together.  I think you got them for a good price too.

That was a good price, Have you got the class 24 to go with them?

Cheers

No, I haven't but I'm toying with the idea of getting one when the new Farish release appears. Or I might just Rule 1 it and hook them up to whatever takes my fancy.

That wouldn't be rule one, I believe the RTC used to grab whatever traction they could find for their test trains..
A single prototype HST power car would go well too!
