Something like this Bob.

Just print this out 27mm wide  on some plain paper and stick it on with Pritt after cutting out.

Excellent, I'll order a few Land Rovers if the price is right.  :)

Thanks Woodbury22uk that's just what I wanted I will see if I can get my son or a mate to print them out for me as at the moment we can't print from my IPad
And I don't think our old printer can print that small but we will try.

Hi

Just picked up one of the new Witby Mercedes ice cream vans

Very disappointing model as the dimensions are all over the place

The real van is just a touch under 2m wide the model is a scale 2.4m

Length is about right but height from road level is 2.8m which does appear wrong although I do not have this dimension for the real van

Sitting beside the Oxford LWB Transit it just looks wrong and it is the same width as their artic tractor units

Why can't Oxford get scale right as this is not the first model to be well out of scale

:veryangry:

I think wheel size and height of the body in relation to the wheel centres is off in several cases.

Hello all,

I remember reading an article many years ago in a modelling magazine (possibly the Railway Modeller) in which there was some discussion about the width of road vehicles, and a manufacturer (Corgi or Matchbox, I think) said that at that time all their models were made wider than scale because true scale cars looked too narrow.

I hope this view is not still informing Oxford's design criteria in the 21st century!

cheers

Ben A.

Just one new model for delivery in October so far:-

NMN004 Mini - Black and Wicker

But if you are into Ford vans there is a bumper crop in 1/76 scale with five different versions released:- 400E BR , Mk1 Transit (white) , Mk3 Transit (white), and fire brigade re-liveries of the 2012 Transit and the 2002 Transit Connect, plus many many more. Must be an important Transit anniversary this month I think.

Oxford will announce their next planned releases programme tomorrow evening (?) on the Oxford Diecast Collectors Facebook page, with trade advices going out over the weekend.

Mk3 Transit?!  Fantastic!  Have been waiting years for one (although I have a few painted white metal models).
