Currently saving up for a Southern Railways T9. Hopefully the price won't change before I get there.

I wanted a T9 as well... Waiting for the BR Black one to become available again - might also get a Southern Green one to keep my M7 company...

The green T9 is enough for me, although I might repaint it in time. In the photos I've seen, UM's green doesn't look entirely accurate. Add the Adams 0395 in Southern black and my SR stud will begin to have some real backbone. Wohoo.

I have the T9 in both green and in black ( said he, boastfully ). In the flesh, so to speak, the green does actually look quite convincing.

That's quite reassuring.

Union Mills has the T9 in BR Black (Early Emblem) (no. 30300) and Southern Olive Green (no.304) available again - get them while they're in stock!

77 for the BR Black one, 79 for the Southern Green.

Just got back home and there was a nice package waiting on the dining table...  :bounce:

Shame that he can't doo the narrow cab T9 with watercart tender, the wide cab 6 wheel tender one was limited to the Eastern and Central divisions for most of Southern days.

I managed to convert mine using a Fleischmasnn  8 wheel tender drive and Langley white metal body (from S15 kit)  If spoked tender wheels were available for UM drives the conversion would be easier.
Cheers MIKE

No problem for me; as I prefer to model ex-LBSC lines, a 'wide' one with 6-wheel tender is perfect... 304 was at Brighton in the mid-30s.

I e-mailed Colin Heard the other day.
He has replied and confirms his next model will definitely be a D16/3.
He mentioned tooling for a new tender of a later pattern too big for a J15. I thought the D16/3s only ran with the short GE tender - Am I wrong?
Roy

What is the Union Mills email address - I don't seem able to find one in my searches so far?, and I would like more information on their range and they would ship to Tenerife.

Can't put my hand on anything recent but try this:

colin.h@manx.net

Hope that is still a 'live' address. Mr Heard doesn't always respond at once. If that fails or nobody can offer an update, you could always drop him a snailmail line.

Does anyone know what Colin's next model will be. I keep hoping he'll do a 2-4-0 of some description... any 2-4-0 would do.

Five and-a-half minutes of pure delight. I mean placing an order with Colin at Union Mills. He's a really nice chap.

The Somerset & Dorset 3F 0-6-0s are out of stock at the moment, but a fresh batch should be ready 'in the new year'. The Adams 0395 and T9 Greyhound are both in stock, and the prices shown on Post No 67, above, are still valid.
