Being an Englishman I am having a ball watching England climb the medal ladder

Being a Scotsman I would like to remind you it is Team Great Britain not Team England.  :telloff:

The BBC used to be notorious for their commentary when the English won anything they were always referred to as English, if the Scots, Irish or Welsh won they were always referred to as British.  :veryangry:

Possibly the only good thing to emerge from this PC world we live in is this is now not the case as it is frowned upon the presenters even apologise and correct themselves if they slip up.

John.

New Zealand athletes won the Golds for New Zealand, and themselves. Not for Australia, Australasia, Oceania, or Aus Zealand for that matter! The only input Australia had in our Gold's was that they didn't win those same events, and we did! :veryangry:

Well yes we understand that but  many over here forget that Auz. is still New Zealands largest Island and colony even if it is still sparsely populated and mainly desert  :D

Good call Nobby, let's talk about Real Gold Medal winning nations like NZ & GB ;)
(not nations who 'embrace' other countries achievements) :hmmm:

Alastair Brownlee has just won Gold for TeamGB in the triathlon with his brother Jonathan winning bronze despite a 15 second penalty!

That's 19 Golds for TeamGB, equalling what we achieved at Beijing in 2008. :claphappy: :claphappy: :claphappy: :claphappy:

Following the successes in Beijing, the rest of the world forced changes to the type of races to be run in the Olympics in an attempt to stifle British dominance.
They have singularly failed as Team GB has just adapted to those changes and thrashed the rest of the world big time
