IMHO any announcement of new items is good news - especially when it comes from outside the top 2, then it's GREAT news. It means the hobby is alive and thriving. So I'm happy to wish this latest crowdfunding project every success.

I agree with you to a point. The irritation comes when, as previously stated, nothing comes off the top. How long has the J94 been on there? If it's not gonna fly, park it in the hangar rather than give people false expectations.

My aggregate wagon of choice would be a "proper" PGA hopper.

A man after my own heart!  Cavalex are shrinking down their 4mm PGA into N which should be good.

The issue with PGAs is the sheer variety of them and that some are very different beasts to others.  I think that a friend and I narrowed it down to 3 or 4 "main" families but even they had significant variants.

The variety makes them a really appealing wagon to do, but also a difficult wagon to tool!

Cheers, Mike

You're presumably aware of Cavalex models - who are doing a 4mm one and have threatened to shrink it too.

Edit: notice I was beaten by Mike, who actually has far more useful info, so ignore this...!

Harder to find somewhere they never appeared.

East Anglia?

If they did appear here, I might be in.

That's quite a specialised one too. Redland only (and its later incarnations).

I would really like a Yeoman PGA with the ladders in the right places and the right stuff underneath too.

All very nice, but such is the backlog of DJM promises that I'd prefer they started delivering on all the outstanding items first.

Cheers,
Alan

So do I.

So not west of Brighton and south of Bristol then?
I have to say I've never seen any - but I never went looking for them either.

My aggregate wagon of choice would be a "proper" PGA hopper.

Someone has just flagged up a flow of limestone from Cheddar probably on behalf of Foster Yeoman before Merehead was developed.

Yes but not in HUO hoppers. I was talking about PGAs which were everywhere in my modelled area. FY also used STONE labelled tipplers prior to PGAs. Got them!

But I may be in the wrong thread by now, wanting a proper PGA!

Nice wagon and certainly a welcome addition in 2mm, but personally I would like to see the Mermaids released in Dutch first also what is happening with the Turbot? Not overly fussed about the shark, as I have 2 NGS models.

Cheers
Anthony

As the HUO has a dependency on crowd funding I can't see why it should have any impact on delivery of the "Dutch" Mermaids which Dave has always said have specific funding (his) allocated to the project or for that matter any of his other projects.

Roy

Roy is quite correct in that any crowdfunded models are just that, and do not impact on DJMs schedule of 'normal' models that have been announced. Updates are quite sparse, however and, for whatever reason, the NGF is not privy to the scheduling of further Mermaids, or any other model.

It's great that an alternative to the NGS 21T hopper kit and Dapol's poor (IMO) model is planned. Any rake of hopper wagons really needs variety to be prototypical.
