This gets unreal !!!!    Feb/Mar 2018      I pre ordered mine at Hattons on 17.11.2011   That makes it almost 6 years to now and however much longer still to go ???????
At this rate the prototypes will be withdrawn before the model arrives ( If it ever does ! )

What on earth is Dapol's problem?  Anybody got a clue ?

I just wish they would be more transparent with the whole process.  I'm sure that Dapol are wanting to get this one right but it would be nice to have an idea when it will be on the shelves.  I think that they need to take a leaf out of revolutions book and they already have the perfect place to keep us up to date the Dapol digest but seem to choose not to use it.

Email from Hatton's today - HST in GWR green "will arrive with us between January 2018 & March 2018". :smiley-laughing: Perhaps it's time Dapol threads were moved to the 'Jokes' sub-board.

Wonder what the longest gestation period has been for a RTR model from announcement to delivery? Kernow's D600 Warship in 4mm has been about ten years, so the Pacer has a little way to go yet  :)

Dapol's Pacer was first listed in the 2010 catalogue. I'd happily wait another two years if it ment it looked as good as the Kernow D600.

Hi

No photo's from me, but over-heard that all livery corrections have either been fully made/ nearing completion. One of the chaps said they were aiming to start production asap... Shame the original livery isn't being produced - the livery samples they had looked very nice though!

Cheers

Same email here.  I did at first think it may have been the email saying that they were due in a few weeks.  After all the 68 seemed to come out of the blue.  I asked the question of when it may be due over on the dapol digest and was told things had been delayed slightly due to problems with the destruction testing.  I really think Dapol have had big problems with the 142.  It clearly hasn't been at the top of the priority list and when the decoration samples were released last May there did seem to be a lot of negatives about it all.  Lets hope this is a good looking model on final release.  Surely the bar they have set with the 68 is a high one.

Same e mail from Hattons to me also.    I pre-ordered my Northern Donkey on 17.11.2011  If it gets to this  November then it will be 7 years and it will probably get longer than that.
If they ever do arrive I can see people not accepting them as the prototypes could well all be scrapped by then.

Possibly even Dapol is struggling to make them as bad as the real things.  :D
