With the rockface done, I've completed the ballasting and uncovered the track again (almost)!

Even managed to get a detailed shot from behind the Engine Shed.

Apart from the large tank with the ladder, the other two are placed but not fixed yet.

Cheers  :beers:

The latest build is this Metcalfe Station (that I'm calling a 'Historic 19th century OS' station)!

This may be the last NON-Mondaine clock on the SBB network - due to a botched restoration the clock no longer works!

Placed trackside in its approximate position ... I still have to have a think about it.  :hmmm:

The clock can only be seen from the roadside, which might be why it has avoided updating!

Cheers  :beers:

Thanks, PP! The eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted (at least) two rookie mistakes:  :dunce:
(a) I forgot to use the window frames with the glaze, so all the windows look odd, and
(b) no chimney pots were included with the kit so they too are missing!

Still enjoyed building it ... and learning that you have to paint EVERY edge ... coz those you don't are the ones you see most!

Cheers  :beers:

Don't fit the chimney pots until everything else is in place.  You'll only knock them off again.  I speak from experience.  Most of mine are now missing again.

Have to have a hostelry so that weary passengers can rest and recuperate before heading onwards!
This one, called "Le Vieux Loup", does a very good cooked breakfast I hear.

Love that you can see through to the yard with this Metcalfe kit.

And yet I still think Metcalfe kits are too clean and pristine ... but nice to see the cobblestone!

The original coach house, built in the 15th century, burned down and was rebuilt. After extensive refurbishment, it opened to some of the first rail traffic in the region. Today it is a bit of a 'gastro-pub' with an excellent chef.

Cheers  :beers:

In my haste to show off last night (prior to any imbibing!) ... I forgot those very important finishing touches.  :dunce:
So here are another set of photos showing "Le Vieux Loup" properly dressed this time with bargeboards and roof tiles.

If you zoom in really close you might see the cellar doors - locked!

Still just placed as I've got a couple of other kits to do first.

Cheers for all the views!  :beers:
