Hi all
thought its time to introduce myself and my layout, I am Dave and I joined this forum at christmas after reading about it on another forum. I have been into model railways since before I was born, ( Dad had bought me a train set so boy or girl I had to like trains) I stayed with Hornby OO up to my early twenties then left the hobby to do other things, well my 50th came along and I had some money given to me which left me thinking what to do with it? I have never forgotten my interest so decided to return although thought I would try N gauge this time due to space limitations. I started with a small set from ebay and have been buying from there since.
My layout is on a board 4'6'' x 2'6'' and I have it in a shed, at present the layout has no name and I am mainly interested in the steam era although can see some diesel coming in the future.

Will post more pics when I have got to grips with inserting them
Regards Dave

Sorry its DC, I strugle a bit with technology and DC is what I know, may be next time.

I wish I could find an easy way to insert pics, I have taken a few, but find it confusing.

Hi all
In between work and other commitments I have got a little bit more done, I had a church that came with some other goodies purchased on ebay a while ago so I found a corner for this and have the makings of a churchyard complete with graves and a funeral enterage, grave stones are only small pieces of card painted white, they just need decorating with a few flowers and some inscriptions etc. There is a group of undertakers with a coffin in the post from Langley models that should finish the scene off.
I bought a couple more of the Metcalfe houses and the Corner shop & Pub, my wife enjoys making these and as she makes her own greetings cards she is at ease with these and puts them up in no time. There will be a small farm going up soon, the building are made just need to sort out some suitable scatter now.

I hope the pics come out

Be back soon, Dave

Been doing little bits and pieces recently due to only having an hour here and there to spend with this. The postman delivered my Undertakers so they needed painting before putting them in the graveyard, then er indoors invited me to Chelmsford with a visit to John Dutfield, who am I to refuse espscially when she is paying. I like taking her with me as she keeps putting bits and pieces in my basket and I allways come away with more than I set out for!! anyway we picked up some nice scenic bits there and her purse was a few quid lighter when we left.
I now have a small farm and accross the way there will be a car breakers yard with what will be a metal recycling place next door.
I have started putting lights in the buildings using grain of wheat bulbs and will be making my own street lighting once I can settle on a design, again the wifes input here is greatly appreciated, she does throw up some good ideas then leaves me to think them through and create something, be lost without her. It will be Wednesday this week before I get any real time to myself due to a couple of crappy shifts at work and hopefully the engine my wife has just bought me from ebay will be here by then.
A couple of pics showing how it looks now should be here, trying imageshack this time as I just cant get my photobucket account to upload pictures now.
Back soon Dave

Welcome to the forum . another Essex boy I see.
Nice little layout there, should look great when it's all done. Are they ever finished???
I'm also back to modeling after a break of 40 years so we are probably both a bit rusty.
