Title: EM 1 and EM2 kit loco's
Post by: Shiney Sheff on November 19, 2017, 08:10:13 PM
I am looking for advise please.

After having a ferret around in the bottom of my cupboard, I came across two kits by MSL for the EM 1 and EM2 loco's, I remember buying them quite a while ago, with the big idea of building them for a section of the Woodhead line that never got off the ground.

I even bought the Kato for the EM1 and the Graham Farish loco's for the running gear.

My main question is, are they worth selling, what sort of money could I expect to get for them ( I have no idea of how much) and the best place to sell them.

Thanks Bob

At a show a few months ago one of the trade stands had a brass EM2 kit with the kato chassis and pantographs for about £90.

I was a bit tempted, but it's apparently a very difficult kit to do well, so in the end chickened out!

Hope that helps.

Cheers, NeMo

Thanks NeMo,

The kits are the etched ones with new cast chassis blocks to swap the motor etc. I believe they were done in a very small batch that were reduced from 4mm

Thanks Only Me.

Would that price include the donor loco/chassis?

Thanks Bob
