Next we have my minitrix vt98 came to me with a really shoddy hand painted blue and cream livery with some cracks to front of plastic so bodies went off to a friend of mine who sprayed them silver I ordered some DB transfers from ebay then installed an uhlenbrock 33100 sound chip with a 15x11 speaker and replace the light lenses with fibre optic ones and some new buffers

Hi bmwm4rkym4rk,
Looking and sounding great.
Must have been difficult sourcing the smoke generator to fit in the N gauge steam locos.

She who must be obeyed says I am spending too much time on this forum. I love her dearly but what does she know?

Factory fitted in those Arnold BR41 2-8-2 locos of the 80s and 90s (think it was just that one model).  The smoke generator was available as a spare part.

Not sure if Hornby/Arnold still fit them?

No there is only one place to get arnold parts brand new now the guy who brought them when they closed the factory as I just brought a brand new one from him arnold spares of you search it arnold-ersatzteile.de
I have found a smaller smoke generator I will be trying in some other locos at some point but need to get the tracks finished first
