Kato gunderson maxi cars Min. Curve radius?
« on: July 15, 2017, 02:37:29 pm »
Does anyone know the minimum curve that the gunderson maxi cars can be run on I have a transitional curve where the very middle is 9" then easing out to about 15" I would like to know if they would go round it?

I'd damn well hope so! Points are sharper than 18"!

Google suggests 12" minimum. That may be conservative though.

Thanks i might try and risk it as it's transitional only one small area is 9" so both ends of a standard car are never on it.

With something articulated like those, the consistency of the radius is probably more important than the actual radius. Having a very sharp bit in an otherwise gradual curve is probably more of a problem than a well laid 9" curve.
