26th March 2017

Just a nudge for those who like to stay on the right side of their Mum :D
Take her out for a lovely meal but don't 'forget' to bring her back with you :telloff:

...panic over.  When I thought it was, but you put the ***** up me then!.  No worries, since my Father died I'm always on top of it and there for her.  You're a bit premature (26th)!

...I had her on strathspey railway other year -one day the heating was off and it was very cold.  We went to kyle on the train this new year just to fill-in an afternoon (it was grim) no toilet or trolley service so I think we'll do better this Sunday -she lives a 4h drive from me but no bother going down!

Unfortunately both mine and Anne's mother have passed away and we can't take them out or say hello to them, but we do go to both of the graves and say something to them.

Mothers are the best and should always be remembered, you will miss them when they are not here.      :) :)

Like Steamie, both my mother and mother in law have passed on, and though both are always in my thoughts I think of them both especially on Mothering Sunday (as I still call it, not 'Mother's Day').

With grandchildren it is nice to be with them and their mothers on the day, though that is not always practical.

However, like so many special 'days' I dislike the over-commercialism, though it's nowhere near as bad as some other 'days', many of which have been hijacked by commercial interests or just invented by the same.

Sufferin' succotash!

My Mum enjoyed the Watercress Line. Spring is a good time as there plenty of wild flowers to be seen.

Best regards,

Joe

Not if you've ever seen the Dave Allen speech about "living by the clock" ;)

I would post the Youtube link but he says a rude word in it and I'd be breaching the Code of Conduct I've reminded so many others about sticking to!  :-X
