Back home after another good show. A couple of issues cropped up but trains kept running and quite a few nice comments.

Bargain of the show had to be a Hornby 0-4-0. Brand new at only 5. Runs like a dream. Yes, I know it's OO but I've been given the task of building a layout for my Grandson in time for Christmas.

Sorry for the late reply - only just got back from Florida  :(

Southbridge is currently crated up as I have to build a small OO layout for my Grandson for Christmas but I'll have a look around my hard drive to see what I can find - once I've got over my jet lag.

Well I've finally managed to finish my Grandson's Christmas present so Southbridge is back up and running. Here's a couple of photos as requested.

SOUTHBRIDGE ATTACKED BY HAMMER!

That got your attention.  ;)

I'm making changes to the hidden sidings. For some time now I've been concerned that guest operators have been struggling with the double slip arrangement that was needed to get trains off the branch to the down main and vice versa (Down Main being bi directional for this purpose). As a result the branch has only really been used for Auto train working.

So I've bitten the bullet and removed the branch line sidings. The branch line now has a dead end.

I now have to remove the incline and provide a flat surface for the new main line sidings. This will almost double the main line hidden siding capacity which will allow for a greater variety of trains to be run. An added complication is that, with the branch "dead end" coming under the hidden sidings, I have to arrange for a removable board in case the Auto Train meets with some disaster.

Happy days.

For those not following the TINGS thread, due to Stapleforth St Stephens having to withdraw, Southbridge will now be attending in it's place.
