I was really impressed with the quality of the slow running of fairly long trains and all on DC so I understand.

Without sounding like a Luddite, it made me a load happier deciding that any move to DCC is well into the future.

I'm jealous of the inclines but being limited to 72"x30", any real slopes are out of the question despite me planning to run short trains; 2 coaches or 6 or so wagons.

Still awaiting my track so the project is stalled until the postman decides to make the delivery. Does that mean I've got to wash the car?

Regards

Dave

I can confirm that I run analogue using Gaugemaster series W handhelds. Clean track, clean wheels and only metal wheels allowed. On two day shows I take all the stock home for a good clean and check on the Saturday night.

I've tried DCC and didn't like it at all. That said, I did watch a OO DCC layout at Ally Pally a few years back. It was a simple branch terminus with sound. The sound was excellent and I spent some 15 minutes listening to the "crew" fussing around the loco before I realised I'd only seen a couple of actual movements.

In case people are interested, Southbridge will be at The Folkestone Show, 6th/7th October 2012. Unless things change (Hope not), I'm located in the Channel Suite with a nice view of the English Channel.

Come say hi.

Hey Graham.

I may be able to make it to Folkestone on stewarding duties after all, I know you have one or two people already helping you, however, if you need a standby, I'll be happy to do so just in case.

Cheers.

No idea.
It's not been in any magazine and it's only been to the Tonbridge and East Grinstead shows. It was on the Tonbridge MRC website but that was hacked a while back and it's not been fully rebuilt yet.

Hi Graham.

Unfortunately I won't be at Folkestone this year stewarding, I wasn't at the club meeting, so couldn't put my name down for duties and it was the last week for doing so.

Matt.
Cheers.
