I've got a Peco Collett and it is one of my best runners steam wise (i think my Farish B1 just about tops it). One thing i will say is that apparently they do not like running on layouts where an electronic track cleaner is wired in.

Oh and on a slight note, although i wasn't the one dealing with it i believe i saw your email asking about the colletts at work today lol

Yes - it will damage the DCC chip. However you can always remove the chip and replace it with a blanking plug
