At €32.90 not the cheapest of rolling stock and Fleischmann's new price policy  effectively meant that anyone who did not pre-order ended up paying more than these could be had for last year. As far  as I know these are not retooled and base on an older design.

That looks very good indeed! Does the roof work? At that price it's hard to justify getting 6 or 8 but it would look rather awesome I guess.

I had a couple of hoppers with self unloading sides which I thought was pretty cool with a separate unloading station.

I like sitting in my hottub with a beer or two…...

HI Everyone, I have to say that the BR65 of minitrix is one of my best Loks I have had 2 of them for a long time and they still run like new.
I took delivery yesterday of an Arnold BLS 4/4 and have a Br23 FLmann coming tomorrow I will post pic's when the day light gets a little better Oh and the BLS 4/4 runs very nicely motor fairly quite there is also a decoder socket already wired in.

Can't wait for the pic Babs, I'm going to see how the br65 runs hopefully tomorrow, and ironically my only other german steam locomotive up until now is a Fleischmann br23 that runs like a watch so I hope yours runs so well.

It's not a Br65. The minitrix model is a Br85.

Piko (ancient DDR ere model) and Brawa did/do a DR (DDR) 65. Fleischmann do the DB Br65. The DB and DR 65s were the same wheel arrangement but different post WWII designs

Out of interest the Minitrix Br85 can be used to make a Turkish Railways 5701 class heavy banker

I quite agree. That's the reason why I don't touch German steam. The black and red is rather smart and having one is inevitably going to lead to another and another.

It does not. I suspect that is because the weight is located in there (or because they just did not want to bother with putting on a functioning hinge). Even if it did open it might be hard to actually put loads in there.

Price is a bit much to have a rake like that. Although at the end of the year a set of 3 Austrian Ă–BBs is coming out which I might have a second look at.

[Off topic]

I have hopper unloader/loader 9482 operated via an electric point motor but it seems a bit awkward loading the hoppers as if you're a split second too late the hopper will overflow.

Is there any way of building a timer into the equation?

I'm afraid Gordon is right Babs, I checked, it's a lovely BR85.  The br65 is a 2-8-4, the Br85 is a 2-10-2 (which is what I have).

Going to give it a run in tonight, and I'm afraid I've also ordered a BR55 too :). No more spending for a while

We're all learning Babz (except possibly Gordon who seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of all things continental!)

I have very little clue about german steam yet, I just know I like them :). Which is bad on my pocket money!

I think I have to start saving for some freight wagons now.. Must resist urge to buy Loks

The Ocean Blue / Beige stock has made it out of the loft today. Set a bit of track up on the dining room floor and they still look good after all those years…

Fleischmann ERA IV 7333 (wrong box) (Series 110) and 7381 (Series 151) with coaches 8189, 8190, 8191, 8192, 8193, 8194, 8196, 8196, 8199, 8199.

I'd like the Restaurant (Quick Picc) coach but I don't think the ever produced it as a close coupled coach (K)?

I need a layout……. :uneasy:

Some pictures.
