I like the sound of you running the most trains.

We reckon well over 1000 over the two days; it would be great to have the data to back this up!

Cheers Jon  :)

Hi Jon,

It was great great to see this layout at the Great Electric Train Show and picking your brains on building a N Gauge layout on a door.  You can be sure I will be asking questions on how you did things on Deansmoor so I can apply those principles on my Ais Gill layout.

Inspired by a recent thread (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=38654.0) I decided to make a prototype of a "train sized" "Putter Onner" for Deansmoor.  The idea is that we can easily sneak on extra trains on the up line which is very constrained by fiddle yard space.  It should also be useful for putting stock on at the beginning of an exhibition, particularly the pesky Farish Voyager.

Here it is; you can see it is based on the Peco item with copper tape to make the business end powered:

And here it is in action with the infamous Lofthole "rocket train" which I thought would be a good test as it is a mixture of bogie and four-wheel stock, EZ Shunt and hook couplings:

There might be a bit of refinement as the bogies wander a bit on the way down.  It seems like the faster you drive the better.

This thread also has similar approaches:http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=38798.0

Cheers Jon  :)

..
 "Putter Owner"
...

:confused1: Look, Jon, I've just returned from t' pub ( :-[ ) and I was forgiving this typo when reading it as "Private Owner". But after 5 minutes spent looking for the non-existent PO wagon, and then clocking that this was some strange UK maglev railway, I realised what you meant to write - "Computer Donor"!

Sorry - "Putter Onner" - think I suffered an auto-correct!  Now sorted!

Cheers Jon  :)
