OK. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool transition era modeller but this layout is just superb, not least as much of the traction was used by me as a yoof to get to places for some decent trainspotting. I had 'cleared' all the electric bo-bos and all the am10 units as I lived in Wolverton at the time of electrification of the WCML and the era Andy depicts is not that far beyond what I saw, although by the time of full custard ends I was more into girls :)

As a BR blue fan and afficionado of WCML electrics I agree, and insist that you pack the layout and stock carefully and pop it in the post addresssed to "Rail Squid, Rail Squid Mansion, Tokyo, Japan".

I've had to abandon my earlier attempt at a tram layout because the baseboards weren't good enough (not rigid, not level, etc). So now I've got a kit of bits to build a new, better baseboard, learning from my previous mistakes. All I need now is the motivation to actually begin again...

Starting from scratch after a 50 year gap on a 1200x900 n gauge layout (http://www.osbornsmodels.com/st-pl3-peco-complete-track-package-for-peco-setrack-plan-3-3535-p.asp) plus extras. Dynamis Ultima DCC and Megapoints control. I have no idea what I'm doing!!

On the N gauge layout tonight at the MRC I will be,
Doing a little more scenery changes in "white" (See the tiree thread)
More work on rebuilding a viaduct.
Telling the New Border Collie that he is not to bark at other members when they arrive, the club house isn't his... :-[

I prefer the steam period as I can Just remember it  :'(, this layout is being set, around 1963ish For non railway reasons, i.e. it will feature a radar I worked on  and that model was first built about then.
That radar is now part of a museum....... :worried:

Not sure what the timescale is for success in that department, but it's at least 12 years if my 2 are typical ::)

We've had 1 Border Collie before so we know, they KNOW they are more intelligent than Humans We've also had 5 Rough Collies but once we had Duke the Border, the Roughs as they came along just followed what Duke did.

This Border however is a 6 year old Rescue dog and his main fault is he appear to have never been lead trained. but we are getting there...

Finally found some time to get back into my layout recently after working on our new house for over a year.

I did some weathering to my 8F and also started to put decals on my PECO wagons as well as weathering them. Quite pleased with the results so far.

Cheers. This is my thread, but it's not much use I'm afraid as all my photos were on Photobucket and they don't allow third party hosting any more without stumping up money. I'll try and add some new photos by uploading them direct.
