Layout Names

Mine is called Old Warren TMD, named after the road that leads to my estate as it seemed a quite appropriate name. The town names on my road signs also come from nearby street-names.

My under-construction layout is called "Swanford Pool."  The reason is that at the Ally Pally exhibition a couple of years ago my wife saw a couple or white-metal swans but in OO scale.  She very much wanted me to find a use for them even though they are out of scale.  So they will be eventually mounted at the entrance to the station, unpainted but polished-up.  There they can represent twice-life-sized statues of swans.  I've invented a history where swans have been regarded as sacred creatures in the village since Anglo-Saxon times; so the name was eventually developed from getting "swan" into it somewhere.  I will find space for a pool somewhere or other as well.  And maybe a ford.
