Hi

I've tried to do a couple of posts with photos recently. I've taken them with my phone, then downloaded them onto my PC. I then upload them onto my post without any problems, but when I come to preview the post, most of the photos are showing upside down, even though they are showing the right way up on the PC.

I have even tried turning the original photos upside down on the PC, then uploading them onto the forum in the hope they might show the right way up, but they still show upside down!

Any ideas?

Ensign Elliott

Thanks for that - it all sounds rather complicated. I don't have the time/IT skills to mess about editing pics to that extent or risk messing up my phone by changing settings, so I'll just have to do with out pics. Shame as I had some nice new ones of my layout.

How to rotate pictures when in NGF:

If you go to the Gallery tab at the top of the screen, it will allow you to access your picture.

Click on my images tab

Look at picture - there is an EDIT button underneath

Then EDIT

Half way down the page is a ROTATE IMAGE option

Type in 180

SImples?

Mr Sprue

All the above sounds too complicated! :confused1:

Here's what I do:  Upload my pictures from my phone to PC. Then view them in Windows Photo Viewer, if they load upside down or whatever I just simply use one of the blue direction arrows in the right of the menu pane at the bottom of the viewer to rotate them.

When you select the next picture or close the viewer the pictures position you rotated it to will be automatically saved in that position.

I then upload them onto Photobucket then just paste the direct link in a post using the "Insert Image " tab

Hope that helps you.

Thanks. That's what I used to do Mr Sprue - unfortunately my new laptop is Windows 10, which no longer supports Windows Photo Viewer. I might try another download version.

Mr Sprue

Ah I did not realise that, the dreaded 10... :uneasy: I'm still staying with 7 for a while yet!!  But if you use Photobucket you can easily rotate pictures on there before posting them on here!

In windows ten, the app is 'Photos' which should actually still be default when you double click an image on your pc. And if windows ten doesn't have a default app, Photos is good enough for what you need.

Hello experts,

I've attached a couple of photos to an Nporium listing but I can't turn them the right way up. They weren't loaded from the gallery - I can turn photos right way up on there - but direct from the pictures on my laptop. I've tried turning them 180 deg in the Windows folder before attaching them to the listing but they still appear upside down. Makes my listing look a bit pathetic...

Can anybody tell me how to correct this please?

Thanks,

Chris

What did you use to rotate them?  Did you save the rotated version (give it a new file name so you don't lose the original) before uploading?

Can't say I've ever experienced this short of rotation problem but I don't use a phone for photos.

Not quite the same problem, mine are 90% out, took some pics at the Poole show and have loaded them onto my gallery when I try to edit them as the instructions below (I've done it before) they wont adjust! I tried to delete one and I'm told I don't have permission  :helpneededsign: Anyone able to help? @Only Me

If you are using a MAC,  load foto into preview and use tools/ rotate to correct picture and save under original file name.

Thanks @Newportnobby that link goes to my original posting, I still can't edit my pictures although one that was 90% out is now 180% out. Any ideas @Only Me help or advice would be much appreciated I'm using windows 10 if that helps.
