Hi all

I am feeling very happy today :hmmm:

Not only have I managed to get my hands on a fairburn

But earlier on in the day I took my daughter for an appointment with her Diabetes specialist
Neither of us knew that she would be having another scan on the baby

So I got to see my new Grandson for the first time  :claphappy:  :claphappy:

Can you tell I'm a happy Grandad

Fancy the Diabetes specialist not knowing Lydia would be having a scan ::) :D
Seriously, very best wishes to Lydia who I know is having a rough time of things. I'm sure you are looking after her extremely well

It was a spur of the moment thing while she was there

It was an anomaly scan to check some measurements and make sure everything is going OK
Only thing is I have to take her back next week to finish the scan  :hmmm:
Because half way through the scan the Baby curled up into a ball and gave the nurse the 2 finger salute  :smiley-laughing:  :smiley-laughing:
It looked hilarious on the scan but the nurse refused to print that picture off for us

I have heard of spacial anomalies before, they distort reality.  I suppose the scan that Lydia had was to check the distortion in her belly   :D

It's the same when I go to see my GP, you never get long enough   :help:

Typical NHS no sense of humour, that would have been worthwhile keeping for posterity  ::)

dave

It's good to hear you are happy and Lydia is on the mend

cheers John.

Hi John

The scan was to check for any problems in the baby she measured the head, spine, heart, stomach and bones
they measure them on the screen using a point and click method then the machine does the rest  :o

It was amazing to watch I have never seen anything like it before

only thing was because the baby curled into a ball the nurse couldn't get all the measurements of the heart and stomach
and despite both the nurse and Lydia giving him a poke he would not move

And the following salute wouldn't have made a great pic as all you could see was his arm and the fingers  :D

dave

Bealman

While you guys in the Northern Hemisphere are copping the Polar Vortex etc and the general conditions which are one of the reasons I upped and left (not the only one, mind), the wildlife continues to thrive in the Bealman backyard:

Mind you, I don't fancy their chances with the camouflage... probably ok against some wallpapers!

[smg id=9829 type=preview align=center width=400]
Then the other morning this fat fella crawled out from under the backdoor of the garage - which is where the Beal & Castle Eden resides! I assume he (or she) is living underneath the layout.... if it ever decided to take a look around on top I think it would be a sequel to a Godzilla movie  :o

Don't be fooled by it's little legs in comparison to it's fat body, though - I took a sip of me tea, and it had disappeared! Can obviously put on a turn of speed when it wants.

Nice..........spring will come.....hopefully sooner rather than later.....  :cold:

Finally found, a Canon 85mm 1.8 breechlock lens! I've wanted one of these for a long time but they don't come up nearly as often as the later non-breechlock ones. I didn't even spot it in the cabinet at the shop either, the guy magic'd it out of nowhere after I enquired!

Irish Padre

After literally months of procrastination, I finally braved the melted sleepers and wired in the three isolating sections on my new little layout. Even better, I wired up the Morley controller and it worked! Inspection saloon was the first visitor, hauled by Farish 4MT. A few switches flicked and Union Mills 3F came in to retrieve the saloon. Of course, much more testing will have to be done before the ballasting starts!!

Well done IP!

Most satisfactory!
