N'Gauge in Steam intend to commission the GNR N2 class locomotive for the N gauge market.
This locomotive was designed by Sir Nigel Gresley and entered service in 1920. It is a 0-6-2t and was operated by the GNR, LNER and British Railways. They were designed for suburban passenger services, and could be seen operating out of London Kings cross, as well as Glasgow and Edinburgh. N'Gauge in Steam intend to produce this locomotive in 5 liveries dependent upon interest. Only one locomotive of this class survived into preservation, and is owned by the Gresley Society and based at the Great Central Railway. This locomotive is currently painted in GNR Green, and carries the running number 1744.
Specification:

LNER green.
LNER lined black.
LNER plain black
BR lined black.
Pricing: (anticipated)

DCC Fitted - 105*
*Prices may be subject to change as the project moves forward, this will always be communicated to you.

@Railwaygun
You might want to change the title of your thread to N2 as, if it's an A2, there are some wheels missing ;)
Not a loco for me (although I like them) but it's good to see another player in N.

Being a Luddite that doesn't do facebook, how to express an interest?

Likewise
Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Hi,

Who are you thinking of using to produce the model or all in-house?

Best regards

The Facebook page has no obvious place to express interest.

I noticed the lack of an obvious place to "vote".  But I will certainly be wanting a BR Black one.

From what I understand, he intends to do a website and have a space for expressions of interest and preorders, but doesn't want to set it up until the above mentioned royalties question is settled. He has said he will post about it here as soon as he has that sorted, but doesn't want to start taking money or making promises until things are in stone. Quite sensible, I think. Hopefully he will have some information for us soon and a website, but since things are still in the design stage, I don't think we should hold our breath for a 2017 release. Experience has shown us these projects take time to do right (even NGS rtr rolling stock can take a while; there are a lot of steps!).

I look forward to learning more (as I'm sure we all do!)

Hi all,
Thanks for the posts and discussions on here. There are quite a lot of forums to try and get round, so thans NIck for giving me a nudge

As stated, I will be opening a website for expressions of interest, pre orders (early payment discount)m and to update general info as we go along.

Aside form the funding (which will come from you guys), everything is pretty much in place. I'm sure you will appreciate that Christmas is not the best time to try and get things done, as businesses wind down, organisations take a break etc.

At the moment, I am awaiting final agreement from the Gresley society with respect to access for 3D scans, and their input on the model. As the owners of the only N2 in preservation, these guys can offer drawings, the loco itself, and tech expertise.

Things are looking fine, we just need to await the next meeting where they will "hopefully" accept the royalties on offer. They have been positive and helpful so far, and I very much expect that to continue.

Very interested in a BR Black N2 - just like Hornby Dublo although apparently one should not call their effort an N2.  :D
