What email????!??

Us foreigners havenít got an email.

Are the new ones only available from the UK batch?

John P

Hi John

The email went out about 1am our time this morning and you were definitely on the mailing list with your correct email address (you appear on the first page of people that Mailchimp think hasn't opened the email yet!).

If anyone is missing the email you can find copies of all our email newsletters on our website under News > Newsletter archive, the email today is: https://us8.campaign-archive.com/?u=f24e36cafcafabf07d09722c1&id=1acc9c0e08

I don't know whether Rapido reserved any stock for non-EU sets but a quick email to Rapido should give you the answer - if they haven't we are happy to take your order!

Good to hear they are on their way, and that the surprise additional variant is selling fast (either means there are relatively few of them, or that uptake is fast

Both! I think reviews starting to come out also helped.

I suspect there's a lot more to come here too - after all with Virgin revising the liveries on these (admittedly debatable if the new one is that attractive.....), I can't see you guys or Rapido waiting too long to produce them in the new style too.

We've always said that we don't envisage a second run of Pendolinos and in the short term I don't see that changing. Ultimately Rapido own the tooling for the Pendolino (unlike our other projects) and they have the final call on whether to rerun it or not - my suspicion is that reliveries and potential franchise change may have a large part to play in that decision plus whether it can be produced at a price that Rapido think that people will pay.

I guess the only minor thing is that if you want the internal lighting for this new variant, it might not be possible? Or have Rapido produced some extra lighting sets too?

Not as far as I'm aware.

Cheers, Mike

I'm afraid I succumbed and ordered CoB too, far, far too tempting and rushed back from work to get online as I thought they may prove popular.

I also forgot to add a note that I had orders in for other 390's and 92's so will drop revolution an email.

In comparison to the prices indicated for Dapols latest HST sets, Farish's Train Packs and the proposed APT a veritable bargain I think.

Now I only have to start on the new layout, if only I will be able to drag myself from the test track.

I dont usually buy magazines but I bought Model Rail and Railway Modeler just to read the reviews ,Both magazines gave a really good writeup on the Pendolino,s and I cant wait to see mine snaking round my layout .
I hope that we will be able to purchase the lighting units  at a later date as We just couldnt manage to pay for them at the time of ordering ,I think I read that they are designed to just clip in and the roofs just pop off and the lights  pick up the current from the track ,but as mine wont be stopping at Stonehouse it wouldnt matter that they are only on while the train is moving so I would like to add lights as and when I can afford them .
If not I will have to think of another way of lighting the coaches .

Hi Gang,

Just to add to the website flurry, I have added a City of Birmingham to my portfolio....the £2 coin jar has been well and truly raided for that one.

And here's me adding my encouragement to all to order a 320/321 to accompany these splendid Pendolino models that are now on the way.

Later,
Stu from EGDL.

While off topic is this the same for the class 92?

Hi Kirakat,

My understanding is that the 92s will all be speaker-fitted, a bit like the Farish Class 40s, but I want to see the finalised chassis design before saying for sure.

We are expecting the final samples of the 92 (unpainted) in time for Model Rail Scotland next month.

Cheers

Ben A.

I too read the newsletter, but unfortunately not buying that because it represents the prototype in post-2016 condition and I can only stretch to owning one Pendo that's been on order for two years.

It will be interesting to know how many people bough different volumes of Pendolinos. I.e. did the majority by 1 or 2, 3? Might be feasible to find out considering there was only 2 main ordering points.
