woah!!!!! you know everything!!!!

when did dutch ce get applied to locos?

can you buy any 'provincial' liveried dmu's in n gauge?

i'm having my 'cut off' point as 1991ish so i'm not going to have regional railways or RES on my layout - but everything else fits in fine for me... :)

thanks a million

Hi Tim,

You've caught me in my favourite era for modelling!  :)

Farish do a Provincial Class 150/1 as part of a train set, which can often be purchased separatly. Dapol offer the 156 in Provincial. They also do a 153 but this probably falls outside your date range.

The Farish 158 is available in Regional Railways liveries, though this could be back-dated to 1989-90 by removing the RR branding and adding the "Express" logo.

Can't think of any others off the top of my head (apart from those wonderful Electra 150/1 Provincial vinyls  :angel:)

Not 100% sure about Dutch livery on locos - it wasn't long after the plain grey CE ones appeared, as BR thought they looked too dull. Late 88 - 89, maybe? First one I remember seeing was a 37 working a NSE Gala Day special from Kings Lynn to Middleton Towers in 1989 (top'n'tailing with a green 31 using 312s as hauled stock).

The older Farish 101 DMU is also available in regional railways livery.

A lot of the blue/white stuff is also perfectly usable. This was Tory Britain and paint cost money so a lot of repainting was quite token especially early on.

Beyond that Farish did RR Mark 1 coaches, 31 and 37, plus a tiny number of woefully inaccurate RR Mark 2 coaches and some of the related Scotrail bits. At the time there were quite a few loco hauled RR workings (eg North Wales coast)

cheers for the replies!

i may add a provincial class 150, a dutch class 37 or 31, and maybe a few dutch wagons to my collection.... maybe a few tripple grey locos as well one day.... depends on finances of course...

currently i have:-

class 24 blue (doesn't fit my chosen era really)
class 25 blue (doesn't fit my chosen era as pre-TOPS)
class 37 blue
class 43 dapol hst set intercity swallow
class 45 blue
class 47 blue
class 47 red / grey mail livery
class 73 blue large logo
class 108 blue / grey

for coaching stock i have got:

7 mk2s in blue / grey
7 mk1s in intercity and a few in blue / grey
6 mk1s in maroon and 2 pullmans for heritage trains
3 mk3s in intercity swallow to go with the hst (need more of them)
4 mk1 bgs for mail / parcels (2 in mail red, 2 in blue / grey)

for freight:

HEAs / HSAs with coal x19
Speedlink rake (currently with vga x3, vda x2, oba x2, oaa x1, oca x1, cargowaggons x2)
Departmental, dogfish x5, tube wagons x2, brake vans on each end
i also have a spare brake van, some pipe wagons, and a RTC autocoach...

on my shopping list are:

- dapol mk3s including buffet car in intercity swallow to go with the hst set
- a GUV or 2 in blue
- a few appropriately liveried tank wagons (TTAs probably)
- maybe the new class 101 or 121 dmu

that's probably my budget gone for the year after all that...

best wishes,

tim
