Another house move despite "never again" has given me a second floor layout so Geominster Mainline & Heritage Line will be modified and enlarged with siding storage.

My Facebook Diary is Geominster if anyone wants to view it please ask, it is a private group requiring acceptance, thanks.

This then is my third version modified which has been improved from previous efforts and lessons learned.

Geominster was my first project which has now been dismantled. Having learnt so much from  previous Geominster projects this is the latest one.

Latest Youtube video is here.

That squeaky-clean 37 is crying out to be weathered !

How long long will you resist the temptation ?

Best regards,

Joe

I expect it will be weathered at some point  :D  I'll be running it for a while 1st to make sure everything is o.k, it will then be added to the list to be done...

Awwww, put the poor thing on rails ... the little 0-6-0 must be steaming to be on a string for so long :(

You shouldn't have posted this picture...
Now I've ordered one!
That's your fault... :)

Class 37 are really among my favorite locomotives.

My Christmas present to me this year will be either :

Dapol Schools loco "Malvern" in Bulleid green livery

or

Dapol A4 loco with valances "Empire of India" in garter blue livery.

I will choose whichever is LEAST likely to be discounted by the major retailers after Christmas.

My feeling is that the A4s are selling better than the Bulleid liveried Schools so I think there is more likelihood that the Schools will be discounted before the A4s.

What are your views ?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Joe

It's Xmas 🎅. I'd get both - then the discount issue doesn't matter so much.
:)
Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Bob Austin

Philip.

I've got 3 weeks off over Christmas so my present to myself is more timber, another sheet of ply and track, lots of track. Time to start stage 2 of the railway room even though stage 1 is far from complete. I have the modelling bug big time  :D :ngauge:

The Q

4 Bottles of Highland Park Viking Honour, :)
4 Bottles of Highland Park Dragon legend, :)
Already purchased... (and one opened).

N gauge? depends on what I can find next week, I've taken a couple of days off, of which, one will have to be donated to SWMBO for shopping.

Newportnobby

Pre ordered 'Game of Thrones - Series 7' so I can avoid the appalling  :poop: they'll put on the TV over Chrimble :D

Snowwolflair

I have invested in a pair of Dentist/medical loupes with x6 magnification.  Eyesight is not what it used to be but still good and i want to keep it that way. 8)

They are a good price now, about the cost of a loco, if you buy them direct from China and they make working on small items so much easier. :beers:

As an aside you can get an amazing range of medical instruments from China on Ebay at good prices.

To reply to my own question, Hattons have 2 or 3 of each of the A4s in stock, whereas they have more than 10 of each of the schools.

Joe
