Pages 1 and 2 have plenty of photos of the inside of the factory.
I think it's Kader and not Sanda Kan, but my Simple Chinese isn't that hot.  ;D You can Bablefish the pages to read the text. It's in Simple Chinese, not Traditional Chinese.

The text to the photo of the woman in the lilac clothing on page two seems to indicate that locos are subject to 100 hours testing before they are passed as ok. At least that's what I think the translation I'm quoting means.

"Under specialist nursing, before all new product's end product, the paper vehicle must carry on 100 hour uninterrupted performance test, the aim of investigating the product to move the question, regarding aims at the quantity which plays to produce the train model saying that moves forever is first."

it makes you wonder what working conditions and pay they have working for bachmann, and are they allowed to organise themselves into a genuine demoncratic and non state controlled trade union....

The pay is quite good in China from what I hear. The reason Chinese stuff is so cheap is not because the workers are low paid, but all because of the fixed exchange rate. For example, my wife is from Moldova where the pay is around $30.00 a month if you go by exchange rates, but a packet of tabs is only 10p and bus fare was 5p a journey.

No, there are no free trade unions in China. Bachmann's parent company Kader, is registered in Bermuda, a British Overseas Territory. I wonder why that would be?

Well for me that has to be one of the best links posted concerning our hobby, the staff look pretty happy and why not if they are playing with trains all day
