After a few tweaks and a lick of paint I think we're getting somewhere. A bit of fine tuning to do later, but for now it's a crenelated city wall bit.

Ok so messing about with electronics over the long weekend so 8 of the 11 points are now servoed up and connected to the arduino via a servo controller board. Iíve also added a couple of banks of power relays that will be used for frog polarity switching on the 3 way point and selecting which line each of the 3 controllers is operating.

Final bit bolted on today was an Ethernet shield. This turns the arduino into a web server so now the whole monstrosity can be controlled by simple html commands. Which means I can slap together a simple Unity app to control the whole thing from an iPad.

Both the gubbins and app are early stages but Iíve already got smooth point control happening :)

The Gubbins.

First prototype of the app (with coder art)

 :jawdropping:

Amazing!

I can only manage working with a pair of wires but they can be red and black AND blue and brown!  :dunce:

Really quite impressive stuff.

It looks a lot more scary than it is (and compared to the original it's quite neat ;) ). Once it's actually finished though it'll all be hidden away in a box.

for comparison, here's the panel wiring for the old version of the layout.
