Hi, this is John's oldest son. I'm not sure where to post or who to contact here but I thought it was important to contact someone.

Unfortunately dad went into hospital a week ago and while he seemed to be getting better he had a sudden turn for the worse on Saturday night going into a coma and passed away on Sunday morning.

Such sad news, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends. It was very good of John's eldest son to let us know of this.

Be at peace, John :(

Very Sad. Rest in Peace.

Thanks to John's son for letting us know.

Spend as little as possible on what you need so you can spend as much as possible on what you want.

That is sad news indeed - Jon always seemed to deal so well with all the frustrations that his medical conditions gave him.

Sad news indeed. He was one of the foundation stones of the forum in my eyes. All sympathy to his family and friends.
"When in trouble, when in doubt, run (trains) in circles..." etc.
There, doesn't that feel better?
Lovely!

I may appear to be listening to you, but inside my head, I'm playing with my trains.

Very sad news indeed.

Jon always bore his problems with a happy outlook on this forum, was a major contributor and he will be sadly missed. My condolences to all his family.

Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Yes indeed, very sad news. From his recent posts, I thought he was improving.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Jon was so helpful to me a few years back - such a nice man.
RIP Jon and sincere condolences to his family.
I'll get round to fixing it drekkly me 'ansome.

Papyrus

Sad news indeed. I always enjoyed reading his posts - he was matter-of-fact about his health problems and very knowledgeable about the hobby.

I envisage him and the much-missed Peter Charles Fagg together building the ultimate layout in the hereafter...

My condolences to his family.

He will be missed. As Papyrus has said, I can imagine him and Peter really enjoying themselves now. RIP John.

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.
