Hornby have named their new CEO as Lyndon Davies (owner of Oxford Diecast) .

Hopefully Lyndon can drag Hornby back up the model industry ladder. Would hate so see Oxford dragged down as a result of this. Tim Mulhall of Oxford Rail, and Simon Kohler formerly at Hornby will act as his special aides.

Wish them the best of luck, it would be nice too see hornby back at the top again. We would miss them if they ever disappeared.

Good to see Simon Kohler will be working with him, that really is good news. If anyone knows model railways inside out and back to front it is him.

I've had a brainwave
Oxford Diecast could start making 1/148 scale Hornby stuff :D
(Yeah - I know. Not so much brainwave as brainfreeze)

Is this the precursor to an Oxford Diecast buyout of Hornby? :D

Nice idea, but lots of technical issues in the way of that happening because of the ownership structures involved. Besides Oxford as a private company is tiny by comparison with Hornby as a public company no matter how successful Hornby has been in lowering its sales revenue and profit. Hornby's losses last year were almost double the Oxford sales revenue!
